  • Cracking furnaces for ethylene production
Five new cracking furnaces at german BP ethylene plant at Gelsenkirchen-Scholven, August 2007.

Cracking furnaces for ethylene production Linde Engineering has been leading the way in cracking furnaces for olefin production since the start of the ethylene industry back in the early 1950s.

Cracking furnaces are the heart of ethylene plants. They play a crucial role in the manufacture of base products for the plastics industry, including ethylene, propylene and butadiene. They also define the yield, efficiency and profitability of olefin plants.

Thanks to our proprietary PyroCrack® technology, we deliver solutions for the full range of feedstocks (from ethane to gas oil) and product distribution requirements. We have developed a number of designs in our PyroCrack® portfolio to ensure the right run length and selectivity for each feed.

Our cracking furnaces offer unparalled reliability and operational flexibility. We have a wealth of experience in designing and building large capacity twin-cell furnaces required for the ever-increasing capacities of modern plants.
